Travel-distance sorting
Set a location and press Nearby, and the feature list is ordered by how far each feature is along real streets and paths. It is not sorted as the crow flies. A feature on the far side of a river is not nearby even when it looks close on the map.
The ⌄ half of the button chooses how to measure: walk, cycle, drive, or straight line. Straight line needs no measuring, so it is not limited to five results, and every feature in the list is ranked. The button shows the icon of whichever you picked, so it says how it is measuring without being opened, and a share link includes your choice.
Nearby works alongside the filter and bookmark buttons, remeasuring whenever you change what is showing.
How to try it
- Search an address in the location box.
- Press Nearby above the feature list.
- Open the ⌄ half of the button and switch between walking, cycling and driving.
Exploring features in the User Guide covers this in full.
