Status from a feature's records

← What's newappearance

Where a layer has records attached to its features, its menu gains a Status row. It names a set and one of that set’s fields together, Inspections › condition, and the value shows on every feature’s row and at the top of its details.

The value comes from the feature’s most recent record. A tree inspected as Critical in 2021 and Good ever since shows Good. It is drawn as a small rounded label, and where the records are styled by the field it reads from, that value’s own symbol is drawn inside the label.

A feature with no records, or whose most recent record leaves the field blank, shows nothing.

How to try it

  1. Open a layer’s menu and choose Status.
  2. Pick a set and one of its fields.
  3. Look at the feature list: each row shows its own most recent value.

Exploring features in the User Guide covers this in full.
