Selection colour matching
A selected feature used to get the same highlight whatever the feature looked like. The highlight is now tinted with the feature’s own colour, so on a layer styled by a field, a colour per tree species say, the selection reads as part of that feature.
The bookmark button beside a feature’s title does the same thing: hovering it tints its background with that feature’s colour. Both draw on the same styling the feature is given on the map, so a layer coloured by species or condition shows that colour in the panel too.
How to try it
- Open a layer whose symbols vary by a field, so its features are drawn in different colours.
- Select one feature, then another of a different colour, and compare the highlights.
- Hover the bookmark button beside a feature’s title.
Exploring features in the User Guide covers this in full.
