Saving back to the source
Press Save on a map you have edit access to and Groundwork writes the change back to the map’s source. An indicator beside the layer name reads Saving to…, then Saved to, naming wherever the data is kept.
A save that can’t be completed no longer leaves you guessing. A message fills the screen naming the layer and what happened, and cannot be dismissed. The buttons on it depend on the cause:
- A teammate saved first: Discard my change and load the latest is the only way on, since the copy at the source always wins.
- A dropped connection or a lapsed sign-in: Try again as well.
- Access that turns out to be view-only: Download my change, so you can hand the file to your administrator.
How to try it
- Edit a feature on a map whose source you can write to and press Save.
- Watch the indicator beside the layer name name where it went.
