A map built from a QGIS project now opens on the view the project was saved with. Before, it opened on whatever the data happened to cover. An administrator can still override that for a particular link by panning to the area they want and sharing from there.

Layer draw order follows the project too, so what you put on top in QGIS is on top in Groundwork.

Field aliases come across as the attribute labels, so a column called spc_common reads as whatever you named it in QGIS. Combined with the display field, which already sets what a feature is called, that means the more you set up in the project the less there is to configure afterwards.

How to try it

  1. In QGIS, set field aliases on a layer and save the project on the view you want.
  2. Publish the folder and connect a map to it.
  3. Open the map: the view, the layer order and the labels match the project.
