Points without drawing
A point can now be added without drawing it. Press the add button on a point layer and the alternatives are listed under the drawing hint.
- Add at set location drops the new point straight at the location box’s marker.
- Add at device location takes a fresh reading and drops it there.
Both create the feature immediately and open its details, exactly as drawing would.
The button then repeats whichever method you used last, showing that method’s name and icon, so once you have added one tree at your current position, tapping again adds the next one the same way. The location box’s own device-location button switches it too, once it has a precise reading.
Either option is greyed out with an explanation when it cannot work: no location set yet, or a device that cannot give a position right now.
How to try it
- Set a location, or stand somewhere with a usable device position.
- Press the add button on a point layer.
- Choose Add at set location or Add at device location from the list under the hint.
Capturing and editing features in the User Guide covers this in full.
