PMTiles layers
A STAC collection that publishes a PMTiles version of its data can now be added as a layer. It draws as a picture built from tiles, so the whole dataset appears at once however large it is.
Because there are no individual features, the layer has no feature list, and nothing on it can be selected, filtered or edited. The layer picker marks it, and the panel says the same if they select it. Where a collection publishes both PMTiles and a data file, Groundwork uses the PMTiles.
It draws in a plain colour from Groundwork’s own palette; a style published alongside the archive isn’t applied.
How to try it
- Connect a map to a STAC catalogue that publishes a PMTiles collection.
- Add that collection as a layer.
- Select the layer: the panel confirms it has no features to list.
Connecting a data source in the Administrator Guide covers this in full.
