Nearby control
The closest features used to be an option inside the Sort menu. They now have a Nearby button of their own in the row above the feature list, with a second half marked ⌄ that opens the ways of measuring: Automatic, walk, cycle, drive, or straight line.
While Nearby is on, the Sort menu disappears, because Nearby decides the order itself. Switch it off and your sort comes straight back. It works alongside the filter and bookmark buttons, remeasuring whenever you change what is showing.
Bookmarked features are kept in the results even when they are nowhere near the closest, up to five of them. Where features closer than a kept one are not being shown, a closer features not shown line appears above it, so a school 12 km away is never mistaken for the sixth closest.
How to try it
- Set a location, then press Nearby above the feature list.
- Open the ⌄ half and switch between the travel modes.
- Bookmark something far away and press Nearby again.
