Layers now switch instantly, however many features they hold. The first switch to one used to stall while Groundwork drew an icon for every feature in it, a pause you felt most on the layers with the most in them, which are the ones you wait on least willingly.

The icons beside each row are produced without waiting on the graphics card. The feature list draws only the rows on screen, and stops rebuilding itself every time you pan. A layer with thousands of features now switches in about as long as one with a handful.

How to try it

1. Open a map with more than one layer, at least one of them large.
2. Click the layer name at the top of the Data panel and switch to it.
3. Scroll the feature list, then pan the map.
