How long ago a date was

← What's newappearance

A date shown in a feature’s title, category or description now reads with a phrase beside it: Yesterday, 3 months ago, 28 years ago, or In 5 days for a date still to come. Every date gets one, however old.

A value that also holds a time reads Now inside the last minute, then in minutes and hours below a day, and in days and coarser above one. Days are counted by the calendar, so Yesterday means the previous date instead of 24 hours back.

On a narrow panel the category’s phrase is dropped and the date stands alone. The title’s and the description’s stay.

How to try it

  1. Open a layer’s menu and set Category to a date field.
  2. Look at the feature list.
  3. Narrow the panel and watch the category’s phrase drop away.

Exploring features in the User Guide covers this in full.
