Floating add button

← What's newediting

The add button now floats over the bottom-right of the feature list, and Update sits in the same place in a feature’s detail view. Both used to sit among the panel’s other controls, where they competed with everything else for the same row.

While you are drawing, that button becomes Cancel drawing, and the rest of the layer’s chrome steps out of the way, so the layer picker arrow, the feature count, the menu and the settings button all disappear for the duration, leaving just the layer name.

The shape you are drawing appears as the layer’s own symbol as you go, lit up the way a selected feature is, so a point sits under the crosshair as the symbol it will become.

How to try it

  1. Open a map you can edit and look at the bottom-right of the feature list.
  2. Press the add button and watch the layer’s controls step aside.
  3. Press it again to cancel.

Capturing and editing features in the User Guide covers this in full.
