Field type icons

← What's newappearance

A true/false field now shows a tick or a cross, so the kind of value a column holds reads without going field by field. The icons follow the value wherever it appears: in a feature’s details, in the title and description on its row, and in the labels drawn on the map.

A field Groundwork has read as true/false gives you a picker. It is no longer a free-text box, so there is no way to type a value the column cannot hold.

Where a column’s kind cannot be told from a blank first value, the layer’s own setting for that field decides. It no longer falls back to plain text.

How to try it

  1. Open a feature on a layer with a yes/no column.
  2. Look for the tick or cross beside the value.
  3. Press Update and change the yes/no field: it offers a picker.

Exploring features in the User Guide covers this in full.
