Feature card description field
The layer’s ⋮ menu already set which field titles a feature and which one labels its category. It now also has a Description field, off by default. Point it at a field and that field’s value appears under the title on every row in the feature list: a species under a tree’s name, a condition under an asset’s.
The category label beside the icon is more compact, and the rows themselves are less cramped. Search results show the title and category fields too, so a result says what it is without being opened.
Each choice applies to the whole layer and is saved for it.
How to try it
- Open the layer’s ⋮ menu at the top of the Data panel.
- Choose Description field and pick a field with something worth reading in it.
- Go back to the feature list: the values now sit under each title.
Exploring features in the User Guide covers this in full.
