Edit mode while panning
A pan of the map while editing a feature used to drop you out of edit mode, which made reshaping anything larger than the screen a repetitive business. Edit mode now survives the pan: drag the map to where you need, then carry on dragging vertices.
In the detail view, titles are larger and the field names and values line up, so a feature with a lot of attributes can be read down. The editing highlight sits above the layer’s other features, so the shape you are working on is not drawn underneath its neighbours.
How to try it
- Select a feature and press Update to switch on edit mode.
- Drag the map: edit mode stays on.
- Drag a vertex, then read back down the attribute list.
Capturing and editing features in the User Guide covers this in full.
