Copy and paste
A feature’s ⋮ menu now has Copy, and the add button pastes it back.
- Paste at original location recreates the shape and the details exactly where the copied feature was.
- Paste at new location fills in the details and leaves you to place the shape.
Because it uses your system clipboard, the feature does not have to come from the same map, or even from Groundwork, since some desktop mapping tools can copy one straight in. Groundwork fills in whichever of your layer’s fields the pasted feature has matching values for, and the pasted feature is always a new record with its own identity.
Where the copied shape does not suit the layer, a line into a points layer say, Groundwork says so and offers Paste at new location, which reuses only the details.
How to try it
- Select a feature, open the ⋮ menu beside its title and choose Copy.
- Go back to the feature list and press the add button.
- Choose Paste at original location or Paste at new location under the drawing hint.
- Allow the clipboard permission if your browser asks, then review the details and save.
