Administrator Guide

The Administrator Guide is for the project author — the person who knows QGIS and prepares the maps everyone else will use. You design the map in QGIS Desktop, publish it to a Dropbox folder, and share the folder link with your team. The guide ends where a project is published — and the User Guide picks up from there.

The workflow at a glance:

  1. Prepare — author a QGIS project whose layers read from GeoJSON files, with the symbology and labels you want.
  2. Publish — put the project file and its data files in a Dropbox folder and copy the folder’s share link.
  3. Share — give the link to your team. They open it in Groundwork and see your map, styled exactly as you designed it.

Throughout this guide we follow a worked example: a council street-trees project, with a point layer of trees styled by species and a polygon layer of parks for context.
